Bedford & County athletic club is a traditional athletics club with approximately 600 members. The club is run by entirely by volunteers who give up their time to administer the club, coach athletes, manage teams, officiate at meetings and organise events.

The club offers coaching and training in all track & field disciplines and distance running at our base at Bedford International Athletics Stadium on Barkers Lane, Bedford.

We also use Bedford International Athletics Stadium as our home base for competition.

The club runs Track and Field teams in the Southern Men’s T&F League, the UK Women’s Athletics League and the McCains National Young Athletes League.

We also have teams for all age groups competing in Regional leagues such as Southern Men’s T&F League (B team), Southern Women’s T &F League, Eastern Young Athletes League and the Eastern Veterans AC T&F League.

Bedford and County’s strong middle distance running squads compete successfully around the country in all the National and Regional & County Cross Country Championships and in the Apex Sports Chiltern Cross Country League.


Our Road Runners compete in local road races and our teams compete successfully in all National and Regional Road Relays.

Bedford & County AC also organise the annual Bedford 6 race as part of the East Midlands Grand Prix and a number of social events each year.
