Last weekend was the British Masters Athletics Federation (BMAF) National Championships at Lee Valley.
11 First Claim and 1 Second Claim athlete from Bedford & County were taking part with great success winning; 8 Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze between them.

Darren Kerr M55 Shot (in a new Club indoor and outdoor record)

Jemma Eastwood W45 Pole Vault

Graeme Packman M70 Shot

Additionally, Second Claim Member Sandra Pedley won Gold in the W60 Pole Vault.
Star of the weekend was Tennyson James with his 2 Gold and 1 Bronze medal. This was particularly impressive as he is at the top end of the M65 age group.
All of these performances bode well for the Bedford athletes heading out to the European Masters Championships at Torun in Poland at the end of next month.
