The Club’s junior athletes finished off their season with a superb 3rd place in the EYAL Plate Final on Sunday 15th September on their home track.

Both girls’ and boys’ teams had a few athletes missing from their squads due to school trips and illness, but those who stepped up did themselves and the team proud. The U13 girls won their age group with U15 girls 2nd, U17 women 3rd, U13 boys 6th and U15 boys & 17 men 5th.

EYAL U13G 1 

The girls produced 7 A string wins and 10 B string wins with 3 being double A & B wins. These came from Eva Henry and Jess Wathen in U13 girls shot, Rosie Foster and Lyla Danobrega in U13 1500m and Sadie Werrett and Isobel Jakes in U15 Javelin. The boys produced 4 A string wins and 3 B string wins with 2 being double A & B wins. These came from Noah Campion and Ethan Cairns in the U15 800m and Jordan Ackuaku and Stephen Simmons in U17 shot.

Athletes of the day were:

U13s – Eva Henry, Lily Farr, Samuel Hudson and Cameron O’Neale
U15s – Jasmine Wilkins and Jacob Appleyard
U17s – Zari Anafi and Jack Hutchins

The athletes also voted for the Athletes’ Athlete of the season and these were Sadie Werrett and Gracie Wall for the girls and for the boys Daniel Harding Forbes and Stephen Simmons.

We would like to say a big well done to all the athletes who have represented the Club through out the season and thank you to all the parents and relatives who have transported the children to venues and supported our officials with officiating duties.

We look forward to another brilliant summer next year.
