Around sixty athletes from Bedford & County made the trip to South London to compete in the Southern Road Relays at Crystal Palace on 22 September. The Under 13 Girls produced a brilliant team performance to win silver. Competing against over fifty teams from across the South of England, the girls’ team clinched a superb runners up spot in a classy field.

Rosie Foster (12:09.95) got the trio of girls off to a flying start, handing over in sixth place at the end of a very competitive first leg to Lyla Danobrega (12:10.30), who moved the Bedford girls up to second. On the third and final leg it was all down to Lily Farr (12:04.15). The gap to Chiltern Harriers, in first place, was a little too big to bridge, but Lily held off a challenge from Tonbridge AC to secure the Silver. The Under 13 Girls B team of Lucy Deller (13:21.55), Milly Dunger (12:39.45), and Daisy Flemons (14:16.30), also ran well to finish in a very creditable Twenty-Fifth place.

Under 15 Girls A team: 25th - Natalie Simmons (12:33.10), Maddison Webb (12:25.35), Sophie Leslie (13:14.40)

Under 15 Girls B team (incomplete): Violet Abbot (14:02.50), Izzy Williams (13:17.40).

Under 17 Men’s A team: 15th - Alex Alston (15:18.20), Gregory Herring (16:46.30), Tristan Cook (16:14.10), Callum Webb (16:20.45).

Under 17 Men’s B team (incomplete) - J Hutchings (18:14.15), M Hanford (17:31.15), Joe Wilson (18:11.55).

Under 15 Boys: 21st - Noah Campion (10:25.45), Euan Supple (12:03.20), Christopher Brodie (11:05.40), Ethan Cairns (12:07.55).

Under 13 Boys: 20th - C Barnes (12:15.15), Sam Deardon (12:41.80), Austin Cole (00:12:43.45), Samuel Hudson (12:17.80).
