Bedford & County AC's Senior men were in fine form at the English National 6 Stage Road Relay Championship at Sutton Park, Birmingham on Sat 8th October. With the club having qualified 2 teams for the 6 x 5.9k relay hopes were high that both teams would be finish well up the field, with the A team possibly making the podium.
Following a good showing at the recent Aldershot Road Relays, Bedford and County AC junior boys were in action again at the National Road Relays at Sutton Park. The U13 Boys started the day with Finley Bent (14:09) posting a quick time on the first leg handing over to Harry Henderson (18:32), admirably stepping in as a late substitute. Bedford and County AC's men were in action at the weekend in the first fixture of the winter season. They were competing in the Aldershot 6 Stage Road Relays which had been set up in opposition to the South of England Championships which have suffered a number of organizational issues over the last few years. Virtually all of the top 20 clubs in the South of England chose to go to Aldershot, with 80 teams entered in the Senior Men’s race, plus 35 teams in the Veterans races. The relays were held at Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot which had in fact been the venue for the South of England Relays Championships from 1988 – 2015.
Well done to Jessica Frost, who claimed the bronze medal in the Under 17 Women's event at the Eastern Athletic Association Combined Events Championships in Peterborough on 25th September with a total of 2731 points.
